What is F1 in Schools?

F1 in schools (F1iS)  is a multi-disciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) competition. Groups of 3-6 design and manufacture a miniature compressed air powered car out of the official F1 Model Block using CAD/CAM software from scratch. Teams are required to collaborate, design, analyse, manufacture, and test and race their cars. The challenge gives students the opportunity to develop skills in technical and financial strategy areas.
